Flutist Amy Fiorito pursues a diverse performance career as an orchestral musician, chamber artist, and recitalist in concert venues in North America and Europe. She has performed alongside Sir James Galway, Michael Feinstein, Monica Mancini, Jennifer Koh, Patti Austin, and John Secada. A Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra Fellow, Amy appeared in the PBS-televised concert and Grammy-nominated album, “An Evening with Dave Grusin,” co-produced by music industry icon Phil Ramone. She has performed with the Miami Bach Society Orchestra, the Rome Festival Orchestra, the Frost Symphony Orchestra, and was Piccoloist of the Florida Grand Opera Orchestra.
Amy graduated summa cum laude from the University of Miami's Frost School of Music with a Master’s of Music and a Bachelor’s of Music in Flute Performance. There she studied under the distinguished tutelage of Trudy Kane, former Principal Flutist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra for thirty-two years and served as her Graduate Teaching Assistant. She was invited into the National Music Honor Society, Pi Kappa Lambda and received the Constance Weldon Scholarship for Music and Academic Performance. Prior to that, Amy was a recipient of the Music Educators National Conference All-USA High School Musicians Scholarship and won acceptance into the New York State All-State Orchestra. She has appeared in master class performances for renowned flutists Leone Buyse, Brad Garner, Jeffrey Khanner, Robert Langevin, Gary Schocker, and Jim Walker.
In addition to her performance experience, Amy is also an accomplished Music Educator having taught in elementary, secondary, and university settings with students of varied ages and skill levels. She has served as a Teaching Artist and Clinician for numerous honors ensembles and school programs in South Florida and New York. Amy is also an experienced Adjudicator and has evaluated for several music organizations including the Florida Flute Association. She currently enjoys teaching private students of all ages and skill levels in the Hudson Valley area of New York and performs regularly with her chamber ensemble, the Hudson View Trio.
